Type In Motion - RISD 2020
//a work done during quarantine - using materials available at home//

For this assignment we were initially given the following instructions:
-use pieces of bristol board, a 36 by 36 inch sheet of plexiglass, a large sheet of mylar, and multiple light sources. Build a 3D letter F out of the bristol board. Cut a 2D letter I out of white paper. Cut a letter N out of the mylar. Next set up the mylar and plexiglass as stacked layers separated by at least two inches.

-PHASE ONE: "arrange the letters F and I so that they dynamically juxtapose one another as well as the letter N. Arrange the lights so that the objects appear dramatically lit."
-PHASE TWO: "Rearrange the letters in the most dynamic position. Set up the digital video camera so that it frames this arrangement. Without moving the camera or the letters, film this arrangement and use lights to create the illusion of motion. Plan the positioning and intensity of lights and create a video narrative. (Two minutes is a good length, though you may run shorter or longer.)"

However, since we were asked to leave campus due to COVID-19, we didn't get the chance to create this film during our time at school; thus, I had to find alternatives to the materials that our professors asked for but I currently have no access to due to lockdown measures. I ended up using a sandwich wrapper as a replacement for the plexiglass, and some books instead of bristol board.
As for the lighting effects, since I don't have access to a projector I ended up using a flashlight that I had in the house. The interesting shapes and light effects created when the flashlight is casted on the plastic wrapper came in my favor; thus, I used it to my advantage and added electric sound effects.

I used more than one audio in this film, to enhance the dramatic feel of it.
