Wintersession 2021 - RISD
Class: Digital Photography

Assignment Prompt:
"Empathy for your project is about seeing the work through the eyes of
someone else; seeing how the maker or the protagonist of the work can shift. Create 10 images from two different perspectives. "

I decided to narrate a story about the leisure of simply lounging and sipping a glass of water. Initially, I wanted my two perspectives to be my Grandmother and water. Metaphorically, if water was mortal how would it be viewing things from its side and angle. I was really interested in showcasing this paradox through reflections, depth of field, and composition.
Interesting enough, the final photographs that I ended up with fit in two different story frames. When I used the exact same images just in a different  sequence, it resulted with two different stories and that is something that I definitely enjoyed witnessing.
I've ordered my images in a sequential manner; thus, to view my two narrated sequences below, please start reading/viewing the photographs  from left to right.
